Hector (on the right) was a completely different colour for us, having previously shown only sables. He had a fair few Best of Breed wins in his day - often shortlisted for Best In Show at open shows, but never quite getting there.
He won well at championship shows too gaining his Stud Book Number at SKC winning 2nd Limit Dog and won the Limit Dog class one week later at Midland Counties.
Hector was always in charge. He kept everyone in their place by merely giving one look to anyone who was misbehaving and usually the look was enough! He was brilliant with puppies and many of our dogs learned their manners from him. He was a fun dog and is still sadly missed. He was a big, upstanding dog and it's just not the same without him.
Hector died peacefully in my arms on 4th May 2008, just two month's short of his thirteenth birthday.
